Abhishek Bachchan will be seen with his wife Aishwarya Rai in the Mani Rathnam directed movie Raavan. But, Shah Rukh Khan was the first choice for the role. Director Mani approached him with the script and SRK also showed interest. However, when the director went to Mumbai for a long gap, SRK had already committed to star in Aditya Chopra’s RNBDJ.

When asked, SRK did not deny that he was approached for the role in Raavan. The actor however said that there is always a next time that he may work with Maniratnam in a future venture.
